You may meet Richard “Rooksie” Rooks if you take one of our flights from Cairns, Port Douglas or out on the Great Barrier Reef. Rooksie learnt how to fly mustering cattle in North Queensland, Greenvale, Charters Towers and Cloncurry and spent a lot of time in the Territory and Kimberleys pursuing his helicopter mustering career and brings many years of experience flying helicopters in different parts of Australia. Rooksie and his family are residents of the Tablelands where he, amongst other interests, raises horses and cattle.

A: anywhere in northern Australia

A: still contract mustering
Q: What do you do when you’re not flying helicopters?
A: working with my family at home
Q: What’s the most amazing or interesting thing you’ve seen from a helicopter?
A: mainly mustering but the whales are pretty cool!
